Delhi-Mumbai Expressway PM Modi To Inaugurate Sohna-Dausa Stretch On February 4, Delhi-Jaipur Drive To Take 2 Hours

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Sohna-Dausa stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on February 4. The foundation stone of the expressway was laid in March 2019.

The expressway is expected to reduce the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur to around two hours. Currently, it takes around 4-5 hours to reach Jaipur from Delhi via Gurgaon, covering 250 km in distance.

PM Modi will be accompanied by union minister of road and transport Nitin Gadkari.

On the same day after the inauguration, the PM will also attend a programme and address a gathering of the Meena community at Meena high court in Nangal Pyariwas sub-district.

This will be Modi’s second visit to Rajasthan in one week. Earlier, on January 28, PM attended the birth anniversary of Devnarayan, a folk deity revered by the Gurjars at Malesari village in Bhilwara district.

Earlier on January 27, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highway Nitin Gadkari said that the inauguration of the Sohna-Dausa stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will take place by the end of January, and the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur would come down to around two hours.

“By the end of this month, Delhi to Jaipur drive will take only two hours,” Gadkari said at an event in New Delhi.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is likely to be completed by March, 2023 and is being built as part of the first phase of the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

At nearly 1,390 km, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be India’s longest expressway and will reduce travel time between Delhi and Mumbai from 24 hours to 12 hours.

The eight-lane highway, expandable to 12 lanes, will cover Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat.
