1,500 acres allotted to IT industry in IMT Sohna

The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has ‘drawn up an ambitious plan’ to project IMT Sohna as the next destination for the electronics & IT industry by allotting over 1,500 acres of prime land for the project, said a release issued by the district administration on Thursday.

According to officials from the district administration, the area is located just off the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway, around 9km from the upcoming Delhi-Mumbai-Vadodra Expressway, and is around 4km from the Delhi-Mumbai dedicated freight corridor while the Palwal-Kundli orbital rail corridor will pass through IMT Sohna itself.

“Of the 1,500 acres, around 500 acres is being developed as an electronic manufacturing cluster. Around 178 acres of land has already been allocated for one anchor unit and on-site construction has commenced. A private company has already made an investment of around ₹1,150 crore against the total projected investment of around ₹10,000 crore,” said the official spokesperson of the district administration.

On Thursday, Sunil Sharma, chief coordinator industries, HSIIDC, held a meeting with various private companies in the electronic and IT industry at the HSIIDC complex in Udyog Vihar in this regard, said officials in the know of the matter.
